Introducing the Stealth Fairways and Rescues

TaylorMade has made a major push into using more carbon fibre in the design and builds for the Stealth series, weight saving and weight redistribution has been a key factor with the Stealth Fairway, Stealth Plus+, Stealth Rescue and Rescue Plus+ designs.

A new carbon crown has been one of the constructions that has really benefited this series. The weight saving properties that comes with using carbon fibre has meant that existing weight in the clubhead has been able to be repositioned, while still being able to remain structurally secure, to create designs that offer maximum playability while increasing the MOI.

This weight redistribution can be easily seen when looking at the use of TaylorMade’s V Steel ™ sole plate, and how it has been used to work with the lighter design. TaylorMade redesigned the V Steel sole plate to be used to position weight low in the club heads to encourage the optimal launch properties while also making sure that the turf interaction has been improved to make sure that the clubs can be used from any lie or condition that they are needed with enhanced forgiveness.

All of the clubs in this series utilize TaylorMade’s Twist Face design, but with different materials to offer players a wide variety of playing styles.

The Plus+ Fairway is definitely the jewel in the crown with the use of multi-material Titanium Zatech Twist Face design. TaylorMade engineers have been able to use a Zatech titanium alloy, which is 20% stronger than standard titanium, to create a ulta-strong thin face that offers maximum flexibility to increase ball speeds.

And now with a 175cc head, which has been shaped to meet the needs of the worlds best players, features a face which is now 12% larger compared to the TaylorMade SIM2 Fairway Wood to deliver the perfect combination of playability, shot making and distance.

As with all the Carbonwoods in the Stealth series, the use of a slot speed pocket to maximise the amount of ball speed that can be generated while also producing additional forgiveness on low-face strikes.

Stealth Fairway

Using the new 3D carbon crown design has allowed for mass to be pulled away from the high toe area, meaning that the Fairway offers incredible forgiveness and maximum playability by having more weight moved to the rear of the club.

Stealth Plus+ Fairway

The weight saved by using a carbon crown has meant that TaylorMade have been able to reengineer the V Steel ™ sole to create a heavy 80g plate to improve turf interaction and versatility on the course.

Stealth Womens Fairway

An advanced laser etched alignment aid has been used on the Womens Fairway to provide a vital contrast between the face and the crown of the club. The aid has been used to provide players with an ability to correctly align the face at address to ensure perfect impact between the golf ball and club face for a more accurate shot.

Stealth Rescue

By using the new carbon crown design 7 grams of mass has been able to be relocated, creating a club that is easy to launch while also providing incredible stability. The crown has enabled TaylorMade to generate a 15% higher MOI, when compared to the SIM Max, that will definitely give golfers the confidence to attack from anywhere on the course.

Stealth Plus+ Rescue

TaylorMade has chosen to use high-strength C300 steel to construct a Twist Face that is not only strong but also allows for explosive ball speeds. And with Twist Face being proven in previous TaylorMade designs to help golfers overcome mis-hits and create straighter shots, this is definitely a brilliant pairing.

Stealth Women’s Rescue

The Women’s Rescue features all of the technology used in the Rescue, but in an alternative colourway that gives the Stealth Women’s Rescue a striking finish, while being available with lighter weight shaft and grip options.

We have also reviewed the Stealth Drivers and the Stealth irons.
